Roaming Through Rome

I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him as he stood just across the street. He was so beautiful that it scared me. His skin was tanned to perfection by the Italian sun and his eyes revealed that he had an old soul. Just by the way he stood I could see that he was knowledgeable and unique but I was too intimidated to walk up to him. He reminds me of Beauty and the Beast in the sense that he was very masculine, but oozed an unexplanable elegance.

When in Rome…

[singlepic id=27 w=450 h=450 float=center]AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WHY? What kind of a terrible person was I in a past life to deserve this “cruel punishment”? Right when I needed it most, it decided to leave me and there was nothing I could do about it.

My Affair With Venezia

[singlepic id=19 w=320 h=240 float=right]There is something about flying business class that makes you feel like you’ve been accepted into an elite club. You can’t help but feel special when the flight attendants are tripping over one another to bring you the softest pillow and wipe your mouth for you after you scarf down your duck and pumpkin bisque appetizer. Now I know why celebrities get so full of themselves. After pretending like I thoroughly enjoyed my Greek salad, I got to dig into my much anticipated meal of Strozzapreti pasta with eggplant sauce and ricotta cheese. I felt bad for the people sitting in coach, eating their pretzel appetizers and ham and cheese sandwich entrees but the feeling of pity was drowned out by the savory taste of Belgian chocolate cheesecake.

Preparation For the Trip Of a Life Time

My 16th birthday was right around the corner and my parents had already told me what my glamorous surprise would be. We would be going to an Italian restaurant downtown to celebrate the fact that I was one year closer to having to understand taxes and overpaying for health insurance. Hooray! One week away from the big 1-6, my parents came into my room with frowns and their heads hanging low. “We couldn’t get reservations to the restaurant. I know you are disappointed so we got you the next best thing.” I expected them to say they got reservations to Olive Garden or Chick-Fil-A but instead, my dad pulled a pair of tickets from his pocket. From Atlanta to Venice.
